Stephen King aurait commencé l'écriture d'une nouvelle (ou novella, pas très clair sur ce sujet) intitulée GILEAD.

Il ne s'agit pas d'une suite de la TOUR SOMBRE mais d'une aventure du Roi ARTHUR ELD, bien avant la naissance de Roland Deschain.
